Shoppers help raise over £1,500 for the Help for Heroes charity

SHOPPERS at a Doncaster supermarket helped raise more than £1,500 for forces charity Help For Heroes.

The donations poured in at the checkouts at Sainsbury’s in Edenthorpe.

Rifleman Simon Talman, of the 2nd Battalion,The Rifles, spent time at the store having just returned from a six month tour in Afghanistan.

“It was absolutely fantastic and showed how proud we are to have them as our heroes,” said Sainsbury’s ambassador Gaynor Cuttell.

“We had wonderful support around the store. Without our customers we could not have raised this sort of money.”

The soldiers also sold Help For Heroes charity merchandise and raised just over 2,000.
