Scouts are to branch out

TICKHILL Scouts will be digging in on Sunday to help plant more trees round the town.

Local farmer Richard Brittain has agreed that Tickhill Countryside Group can plant eight trees at a spacing of 30 metres on Hopyard Lane and others will be located alongside Sheepwash Lane.

The work will be carried out on January 30 and an invitation has been sent to the town's 13th Doncaster Scout Group, who have helped out with past planting sessions.

The owner of the land on Hindley Lane and Apy Hill Lane is to be asked if further trees can be planted there.

The Scouts have also asked for advice on the appropriate planting of raised beds behind Estfeld Primary School.
