Rugby club transformed into rock venue for festival

SPROTBROUGH was rocking as hundreds of music lovers turned out for a festival featuring well known tribute bands.

U2 sound-alikes New 2 headlined the showcase, which also saw local bands such as Subject To Change, fronted by Dawn Brookes Harrison and Kev Richards, sharing the stage.

The event at Wheatley Hills Rugby Club saw a marquee and stage put up for the day to allow the bands to perform.

Other tribute acts to perform at the Fake Festivals event included Guns 2 Roses and The Really Hot Chili Peppers, who played a variety of popular covers for the crowds from their chart-topping albums.

"We're playing eight dates on the 2010 Fake Festival tour and we just love them," says Frank Farkas, who is the singer with New 2, and impersonates Bono on stage.

"The whole experience is amazing and the crowds just go crazy."
