Recession help spreads to communities
A CROSS-partnership effort to help local residents and businesses through the recession is being expanded into local communities.
Following similar events at Doncaster College's Hub Building, a Future Prospects roadshow will for the next three months stop off in neighbourhoods across the borough.
Every week, starting at the Old Library in Denaby on Wednesday, the Success Doncaster bus and its 'Jobmates' will be available in prominent locations to offer people help on how to get back into work or develop their career. The roadshow will be available from 11am to 3pm.
Doncaster College will continue to offer support every Tuesday, between 9am and 1pm, with special advice clinics from the careers service.
The drop-in sessions will enable people to receive careers advice personalised to their needs. People will also be pointed in the right direction of additional support and given information to take away from other agencies.
Mayor Martin Winter said: "The Future Prospects events were a great success and showed that by working together with other partners we can deliver the help people need during these difficult times. I am delighted this proven formula will be taken into the heart of communities and with a drop-in service continuing on Tuesdays at Doncaster College the ongoing support people need is being made widely available."
