Real trooper Simon
SHOPPERS rallied round when they saw an Afghanistan war veteran had called into a Doncaster supermarket to seek support for the troops.
Kirk Sandall man Ben Talman asked if Sainsbury's at Edenthorpe would support Help For Heroes so staff laid on lots of fundraising activities and placed collection buckets at each till.
Ben's brother Simon is a Rifleman with the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, and has just returned from a six month tour of Afghanistan. Ben and two of his colleagues will be completing a 300 mile sponsored walk from Doncaster to Hertfordshire and Simon will be joining them during his leave.
Sainsbury's store ambassador Gaynor Cuttell said: "We are proud to support our military heroes who return from war sometimes maimed and seriously injured for just doing their jobs."
