Prospectus wins award

UNIVERSITY Centre Doncaster's undergraduate prospectus has been 'highly commended' at a national awards ceremony.

The degree course book, which also includes a feature-packed CD, was shortlisted for the FE First Awards 2008 in the Best Higher Education Prospectus category – a category specifically designed for further education colleges who have considerable higher education provision.

The college, which runs its higher education provision under the banner University Centre Doncaster, took a different approach to most universities in producing the prospectus.

Only core details were in the paper-based booklet and most other information was on the accompanying CD.

Features included videos, pictures and more in-depth details of courses, and information about Doncaster as a whole.

A University Centre Doncaster spokesman said: "To be recognised is a great achievement. The prospectus has raised our profile significantly.

"This year, applications are up by 26 per cent."
