Power of good vibrations

GET fit faster is the aim of the Lakeside Health and Fitness Club, at the Keepmoat Stadium, after staff took delivery of a Pro5 Power Plate used by the stars.

The machine helps users get fit in less time by giving muscles a high-speed workout by using vibrations to stimulate them to contract and relax.

Jacqui Page, from the Stadium Management Company, said: "Power Plate technology is said to be used by sporting stars including Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney, along with celebrities Madonna and Donatella Versace.

The user holds a series of poses including squats, crunches and dips and the machine vibrates transmitting waves of energy activating muscle contractions.
