Poor Kylie wants her coat back and a new home
WITH hardly any fur left on her body, Kylie the Staffordshire bull terrier cross looks a sorry sight.
But her severe case of mange has not deterred the Mayflower Animal Sanctuary at Bawtry from trying to cure her.
It might take up to a year for her rusty-ginger fur to grow back again after she was seized from a neglectful owner in Doncaster.
The five-month-old pup needs a dedicated regime of medicinal baths to get rid of the contagion and manager Jennie Foxall-Lord says it will need a special owner to care for her afterwards.
"She's probably the worst case of this kind I have seen," said Jennie. "Some dogs get little patches of mange but hers is over all of her body.
"But she's a lovely girl with a sparkle in her eye and she's not given up so why should we?"
Jennie added: "It would take a special person to give her the right home but we would give lots of support." Call the Mayflower on 01302 711 330.
