Pies have it for students
A PIE company has set a challenge for dozens of hospitality and catering students to try to come up with a new flavour.
Officials from The Topping Pie Company set the challenge to students from its Chappell Drive neighbours Doncaster College.
The project is forming part of the students' induction activities at the start of the September term.
College chef lecturer Alan Ryman said: "This is a great way of getting our students up and running in the new term. Hopefully they'll produce some good ideas for the company."
The Topping Pie Company's General Manager Lynda Povey said: "People don't perceive working in a pie company to be sexy but we want to get out into the community and show people it's good fun.
"We do a lot with schools in the area so it's good to come in to a college and have some fun with the students."
The students will work on ideas throughout the coming term and show off their ideas to lecturers and managers at a later date.
