THERE are lots of people doing what they can to make life easier for vulnerable youngsters in Sheffield but Nikki Sharpe definitely deserves a mention.

Nikki, pictured, founder of social enterprise Youth Can Achieve, has just been made chairman for the NSPCC’s Sheffield and Hallamshire group and is already raising valuable funds to help vulnerable young people.

She was fostered as a child, brought up in care and endured a failed adoption before running away and putting herself back through education later in life.

“I was delighted to be asked to speak out about the rights of children,” Nikki said. “I can empathise with what some of the children the NSPCC tries to help are going through.”

Nikki is a personal injury lawyer at Thompsons Solicitors and founded Youth Can Achieve in 2009 to show young people how they can take charge of their lives and build a better future no matter how desperate their situation.
