News in brief: Boots are made for winning

A DONCASTER woman went to buy a pair of new boots and ended up winning a new van.

Janice Wilson, section leader at BLG Logistics, Doncaster, bought a pair of new Dr Martens safety boots at the Wheatley premises of Arco Trade Counter and was entered into a prize draw for the Vauxhall Combo van with six months tax and a full tank.

The competition, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Dr Martens, was for anyone who purchased a pair in May and June this year.

Janice said: "I simply went into the Arco branch in Doncaster to buy a pair of Dr Martens footwear and virtually walked out owning a van.

"When I received a call from Nick McLaren at Arco a couple of months later to say my name had been randomly selected as the winner I couldn't believe it."
