News In Brief: Less money for town council

TICKHILL Town Council has been warned to expect a reduced income in the next financial year.

Clerk Joone Oliver has been told that Doncaster Mayor Peter Davies proposes to withdraw the grant given to parish councils as part of budget cuts. If this takes effect it will mean a loss of 1,200 for Tickhill.

Lake walk

DONCASTER Ramblers lead a Bessacarr Walk around Lakeside and along lanes to the Flying Childers tomorrow as part of the Get Walking Festival. It starts from the Vue Cinema at 10.30am and covers four miles.

Drawn-out year

THE Point in South Parade, Doncaster, is showing work from Monday to March 11 of local artist Dan Jones, who drew a picture every day during 2010 in the villages of Barnburgh and Harlington.

Bin and done

BAWTRY Town Council has agreed a price of 175 for a new litter bin at the Pinfold on Doncaster Road.
