MP backs airport security training
DONCASTER MP Caroline Flint has given her support to a new training centre for airport security staff, based near Robin Hood Airport.
The MP's backing for the new site follows her visit to Redline Aviation, based at the National Aviation Academy.
Redline trains airport managers, security staff, and baggage handlers in security procedures to keep the airlines safe.
Former Europe minster Ms Flint said: "Keeping air passengers safe on their journey is fundamental to this business. Without doubt, Redline has the expertise, the confidence of the airline industry to train to the highest of standards, and is expanding fast.
"Robin Hood Airport is in the right location with ideal buildings to run training and simulations, with a hotel nearby to accommodate trainees."
The MP has called on Yorkshire Forward and Business Link to offer every support.
She said: "Even in a recession, there are firms that are crying out to expand, bringing skilled jobs to Doncaster. That's why I want this new training centre here."
Paul Mason, managing director of Redline Aviation, said: "We were delighted Caroline Flint took time out of her busy schedule to visit our firm, see our training, and discuss our plans. Her interest in this project is very welcome."
