Little Theatre seeks young talent

DONCASTER Little Theatre's youth section has launched a talent hunt for children and teenagers to star in its shows.

The Young Lit is the training section of the Little Theatre and runs Saturday drama classes for all age groups at Hall Cross School.

A spokesman said: "Because we have a couple of plays coming up over the next few months that require a number of young people we are holding open auditions for children and young people from eight to 16 years of age on Saturday March 14 at the Little Theatre.

"This is your chance to tread the boards on stage, meet some of the Young Lit members, and get a feel for performing."

No experience is needed, just enthusiasm and the commitment to join Young Lit and attend every Saturday to build on theatre skills.

Audition pieces are available to download from the theatre's website, www.thedoncasterlittletheatre.co.uk, or can be collected from the Little Theatre on King Street.

The auditions will be between 1.30pm and 3pm.

Among the shows in the pipeline from the group is a version of Roald Dahl's The Twits, which runs from Saturday April 11.

The Twits are played by Angela Wren and Nikki Windmill, who are both used to treading the boards at Doncaster Little Theatre, but the group is still looking for three more nine to 11-year-olds to join the cast.
