Keepmoat group doubles up in trust awards
A DONCASTER company is celebrating getting a big tick for its work with youngsters.
Frank Haslam Milan, part of the Keepmoat Group, is far from ticked off after receiving the Business in the Community Big Tick award for the second year running in recognition for the work it carries out with the Outward Bound Trust.
The award is supported by the department for children, schools and familes, and recognises company community programmes that raise the achievement of young people through building partnerships with schools to the benefit of pupils aged five to 19 years.
FHM's partnership with Outward Bound started over four years ago and has since helped over 700 young people from across the country to get involved in a range of activities that has helped them to learn new skills, build their confidence and support their personal development. The scheme has also created more than 30 full-time apprenticeships within Keepmoat, for those youngsters who have excelled on the course.
It is funded wholly by Keepmoat, through their Keepmoat Foundation.
David Blunt, Keepmoat's chief executive said: "We are delighted that our work with the community, and in particular our partnership with the Outward Bound project, has been recognised for a second year running by Business in the Community.
"We have been helping to transform the lives of thousands of young people, by providing them with the confidence, financial support and opportunities to help fulfil their potential and engender pride and purpose in their communities."
