Kate earns top marks

BALBY student Kate Lowther returned to college to update her skills for the modern workplace – and left with the top marks in the country.

Kate, aged 37, received the top exam marks in the country for the Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception this year following her studies at Doncaster College.

She said: "Although I know I put in a lot of effort it came as a complete surprise to have the top mark. I am so proud and my family are too."

Lecturer Julia Kirk said: "Kate was an excellent student who was totally committed to achieving. She was a pleasure to teach and was well respected among her peers and tutors."

As a result of her studies, Kate acquired a position as a medical receptionist at a practice in Doncaster.
