HUNDREDS of job hunters turned up at Doncaster College as employers flocked to the venue for a jobs fair.
The free drop-in event to help people get back on the jobs ladder was organised by the council's Invest in Doncaster team and Doncaster Jobcentreplus.
A number of the town's major employers including DFS, RBS, EON Contact Centre, Cooper Lighting and Safety, Hesley Group, Cheswold Park Hospital and Transline attended to hand out details about 200 full and part time job vacancies.
Other exhibitors included Doncaster College, the Redundancy Support team from Jobcentreplus and Job Mates.
Jonathan Wood, Doncaster Council's cabinet member for business and regeneration, said: "Despite these difficult economic times, there are jobs out there for local people.
He added: "The jobs fair was a big success and I was delighted to see a wide range of jobs including skilled and managerial posts on offer to job hunters."
