Have your say

What has you reaching for your purse? We want to know! Helen Dimmick has her own chain of jewellery stores to tempt her into spending...

She’s always been surrounded by lavish jewellery, so it’s unsurprising Helen Dimmick can’t resist adding to her personal collection.

She managed the Bond Street store of Tiffany & Co, then worked for the Company of Master Jewellers before becoming the MD of Green + Benz on Division Street and Glumangate in Chesterfield.

“I love buying new jewellery and always find myself lusting after pieces when we get the new collections in,” admits Helen. However, her day to day life usually brings her back to reality.

“With a new house to decorate, my recent shopping sprees have been for far less exciting purchases,” she adds. “Though I have to say, I’m really enjoying doing up the new place and my frequent trips to B&Q.”

BMW X6, BMW dealership

After years of yearning after it for a long time, I’ve finally treated myself and bought my dream car. My new, navy blue BMW X6, complete with heated seats and all the extras, is perfect for my daily commute over the Pennines and for going back and forth between our Sheffield and Chesterfield stores. I’ve named her Helga and she’s absolutely gorgeous!

Daniel Wellington watch, £99, Green + Benz

I’ve been hoping to get watches into the store for a while now and spent months picking out the perfect brands. When I saw the new Daniel Wellington collection I thought it would be ideal for Sheffield and when they came into store, I just had to have one. Each watch is names after a university town and for my first purchase I went for the St Andrew’s model, as I had lots of friends that went there so it brings back great memories. Next on the list is the Sheffield watch.

Leyland paint tester pots, £3.50 each, Johnstone’s Decorating Centre

I recently moved into a new home, which I am in the process of giving a full makeover. I’ve left the bigger jobs to the pros but wanted to be a part of making the place my own so am doing all the painting myself. I love the Farrow and Ball paint colours but after spending all my money on the new car, I opted for the more cost-effective Leyland paints, which are absolutely great as they can be mixed to match the Farrow and Ball colours for half the price.

Shaun Leane Hook earrings, £175, Green + Benz

Shaun Leane is old friend of mine and a brilliant designer. We’re so lucky to stock a man who has worked with the likes of Alexander McQueen, Daphne Guinness and many more. His Signature Tusk collection is one worn by many celebrities ,including Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Lopez. I couldn’t resist adding a touch of stardom to my jewellery collection and went for the earrings in rose gold as it’s this season’s must-have colour.
