Sally, aged 58, TV's so-called Celebrity Psychic, spoke to Diana daily for four and a half years and her other clients have included George Michael, Uma Thurman and Mel B.

She told The Star how she revealed the royal death premonition not to Diana herself but in a reading for another woman, who she describes as being "very close" to the Princess.

"According to her I predicted Diana's death. But it was the year before and I really didn't think it was the Princess of Wales. It horrifies me to say this now but I thought it was the Queen,'' she told The Star.

"It was before Diana had done the interview with Martin Bashir, where she spoke about being the Queen of Hearts.

"This particular lady, who was so close to her, called me four days after the funeral and said, 'you know it was her passing that you had seen'."

Sally hasn't had messages from Diana since here death.

She said: "I don't see any of her relatives for readings – so why would she contact me? I'm not a relative of hers. OK, she knew me, but I'm not sitting at home trying to contact famous dead people. Why should I be? "

Sally said of her ability to communicate with the afterlife: "It's a gift. If I didn't have the personality I have it would be a curse. There are people who call themselves cynics and sceptics, when they are just obstructive. And there are many reasons for that – the biggest one is fear. I would say to them, 'I prove every day that there is an afterlife – you have to prove to me that there isn't'."

The star of ITV's Star Psychic, who has a new book out about her experiences, called Healing Spirits, is promising more messages from the other side for South Yorkshire folk when she brings her one woman show to Sheffield City Hall on Sunday night, September 6, 2009, at 7.30pm.

It is being filmed for broadcast on Living TV in the New Year. Tickets are 19.50, may be subject to a booking fee. Call the box office on 0114 2789 789 or visit www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk
