Hairdresser Louise turns on style
A YOUNG stylist from Doncaster is making a name for herself after winning a national competition to find the best up and coming hairdressers in England.
Louise Booth, aged 21, of Bessacarr, was one of only five youngsters to make the grade in The Skills Factor - a national competition to find the salon stars of tomorrow.
Now Louise is one of five members of the Apprenticeship Skills Team for Hairdressing - which performs on stage in countries such as India, Japan, China, Italy and Spain.
The competition was open to learners aged 16 to 25 and on a Government-funded apprenticeship programme.
Louise, who studies at Doncaster College's Hub campus demonstrated her abilities in front of a panel of judges at a regional boot camp in February.
Seven finalists, including Louise, were then selected to present a style live on stage in front of more than 100 employers and training providers in Birmingham and Manchester.
Louise and the other finalists took part in a final interview and judging session in June before just five were named top stylists.
