You don’t have to be David Bailey to take photos worth sharing and they don’t have to cost a fortune.

There’s nothing better than a personalised present when it comes to close friends and family especially if they don’t live close and don’t get to see the kids very often.

Whether you are capturing a moment or want to create unique presents, really good photos always make a great impression.

And we aren’t necessarily talking about the usual image stuck in a frame and nailed to the wall.

There are lots of places in Sheffield offering the chance to turn an ordinary photo into an extraordinary present.

Get your favourite image transformed into a cup, mouse mat, T-shirt, key ring or even a jigsaw.

Even if Santa isn’t going to arrive with a new hi-tech camera you can get good photos on most mobile phones.

So will you be focusing on Christmas tree lights, the kids opening their presents, the whole family at their annual get-together or maybe even a crisp snowy walk on Christmas afternoon?

If you fancy bringing out the children’s creative side you could even challenge them to a family photography competition. It doesn’t matter whether they want to pick the pet hamster as their model, the chances are they’ll come up with something different from the norm!

Parents Chris and Allie Langham run Chrysalis Photography in Chesterfield and know how much capturing photos of youngsters means to families.

They love taking images of their own children Max and Ruby but it doesn’t have to be inside the studio, there are lots of great opportunities in every day life.

Allie said: “We are a husband and wife team with two budding young photographers of our own and for years now our studios have been bursting at the seams with children of all ages.
