Flower display designers win silver medal at top show
GREEN-fingered floristry students from Doncaster College picked up a silver award at the prestigious Harrogate Flower Show.
The group were invited to enter the Bright Ideas category and depicted The Alternative Mouse Trap in flowers as their entry.
Level 3 pupils Sarah Oliver, Sarah Lamb, Steph Lynskey, Gail Seymour, Lyndsay Fox and Heather Skill studying on the Advanced National Certificate in Floristry took part in the event.
The group was co-ordinated by course tutor Tracey Cambell.
Programme manager Julie Kaye said: "The students produced a fantastic display and deserved their silver award for their display, their attention to detail was superb, as shown by even the curtains being made out of flower material.
"It was a great day for the college as, not only did the floristry students take part, the staircase in the entry was made by college construction students – and of course caretakers helped out at the event too."
