Family's got the bug for studying computer courses
A DONCASTER family has completed 12 computer courses between them in seven months - and they liked studying so much they've enrolled on three more.
Jackie Thompson, her son Andy and daughter Becci, all from Wheatley Hills, have sailed through a dozen IT courses at Doncaster College's Hub campus.
Jackie completed five qualifications, Andy four and Becci three.
Jackie, a medical records clerk at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, was the first to hit the books.
Son Andy then decided to join his mum on the IT courses after completing a media course, with daughter Becci completing the family outing at the college after she decided to break off from her studies at sixth form.
Becci said: "I started a course at sixth form and found that it wasn't really for me so after both my mum and Andy had enrolled on the IT courses at college, I thought I'd give it a go as well."
Peter Beard, deputy head of the ICT Academy at Doncaster College, said: "The fact they have come out of this short period of time with 12 qualifications between them is a testament to the hard work the family has put in over the recent months. They have been a pleasure to teach."
