When schools close tomorrow the hunt begins for good entertainment to keep our little darlings busy without breaking the bank.
The good news is there are lots of events on that won’t cost you a penny.
There are always the reliable old favourites but there are also a few new activities to try.
You could head inside the cathedral to leave a footprint, or train like a top athlete at Weston Park.
If the sun is out, grab a picnic and head into one of Sheffield’s many parks and play areas for a full day of fun that costs nothing other than what you spend every day on lunch.
And even if the weather is horrible there are plenty of things going on in the city’s museums, galleries and libraries.
You could pick up new musical skills, hone your arty talents and expand your knowledge without stepping into a classroom.
Here is our guide to free and fun things to do with kids in the holidays.
