Dragon fun at council's family fun day

YOUNGSTER Luke Spalding was transformed into a dragon when he took part in fun day for disabled children at Bentley Pavilion.

A balloon modelling expert created this outfit for the eight-year-old when he joined other youngsters at the event run by Doncaster Council's Children's Disability Service.

The fun day was part of Aiming High for Disabled Children's short breaks scheme.

Activities included face painting, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, an inflatable assault course, refreshments, ball pool and more.

All families with a disabled child who live in the town were invited.

And dozens of youngsters turned up to join in the fun.

The fun day was one of a number of activities which has been organised during the summer holidays and planned by the Children's Disability Team.

Coun Andrea Milner, Doncaster Council's cabinet member for the children and young people's service, equalities and cohesion, said she was delighted with how the fun day had gone.

She said: "This was a fun-filled day for all and an excellent example of the council working to support families with a disabled child."
