Councillors can sign off

LONG-serving Tickhill councillors Ellis Baldwin and Bill Higgins have decided to call it a day after serving the town for more than 20 years.

Both councillors were elected in 1987 and have been ever-present members since then.

Each of them has served as Mayor of Tickhill on four occasions.

Current Mayor of Tickhill Raymond Hill paid tribute to their 23 years of service to the council and to the people of Tickhill.

To mark the occasion both Couns Baldwin and Higgins were presented with specially engraved fountain pens.

The town council also paid tribute to Alan Jillott who has retired after 13 years as clerk.

Councillors offered their grateful thanks for his loyal service to the town and all of its councillors during that time.
