College wins £1m contract

DONCASTER College has won the £1 million tender to continue supplying learning to South Yorkshire's offenders over the next three years.

The college, with partners SOVA and Rainer, will continue delivering the local Offender Learning and Skills service that has been in place for the last two years.

Joan Faraday, director of partnerships at the college, said: "Great credit must go to the delivery teams who have surpassed targets in the past two years and have been commended at regional level for their work.

"We will strive for excellence as we continue to supply learning to offenders across the region. Everyone is entitled to an education and we are helping deliver relevant skills to people to help them get their lives back on track.

"Over the past two years we have worked with hundreds of offenders in the South Yorkshire community and helped them gain a number of skills and into employment."
