SCOUTS have been dishing out advice to their local MP after she paid a visit to their camp.
The youngsters set up their tents at Squirrel Wood, in Burghwallis, Doncaster.
The scouts gave Rosie Winterton - MP for Doncaster Central - some key Ray Mears-style survival tips for living the outdoor life.
Top of the list were lighting fires and cooking in the woods.
The scout groups headed to the site at Abbess Walk from their usual bases in Balby and Bessacarr.
As well as showing off their survival skills and pioneering and tracking techniques, they used their stay camp to plant a time capsule and a tree.
Ms Winterton said: "Adults as well as young people have a great time in the Scout movement learning new skills, making friends and keeping active."
She said she had been looking forward to taking part in the activities and learning more about modern scouting.
Staff from Edenthorpe Sainsbury's also attended to take part in tree planting as the store sponsored the event.
