Catherine Louise Bird, 21, an event management student at Sheffield Hallam University, reveals her best and worst beauty buys:
HIT: M.A.C. Studio Fix Fluid, £21.50, Debenhams at Meadowhall
This medium coverage foundation leaves a matte finish, resulting in a long lasting, glowing appearance. It feels light, looks natural and leaves your skin looking completely blemish-free. Although a tad pricey, lasts me four months using the product twice daily.
MISS: Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Pencil in black, £2.99, Boots
Having blue eyes, I find using his black eye liner pencil left my eye make-up looking smudged and untidy. This is just my personal opinion, but I find that even when I freshly apply this eyeliner, it looks more like I have slept in it! Since not using it my eyes stand out more and I don’t look as tired.
JO RECOMMENDS: Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus, £40, John Lewis
This award-winning serum has been around for several years, but the formula has been upgraded with additional ingredients clarisage and glucosamine for skin resurfacing as well as reducing the effect of wrinkles and sun damage. Clinique claim tests showed visible results in four weeks. I applied four drops twice a day to my face and around the eyes and reckon my skin looks smoother and brighter. It’s great under make-up as the finish is matt.
