Trish Hill, 43, administrator for Barnsley PR company Cream Consultancy , reveals her best and worst beauty buys:

HIT: Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, £27.50

I’m always in a mad dash but I do like to take the time at the beginning of the day to apply my make-up well. It sets me up for every eventuality and gives me confidence. Lauder’s Double Wear has always been a winner for me. It lasts all day and with Lauder’s new Lucidity loose powder (£27.50) over the top, it’s a minor miracle. Worth every penny.

MISS: Bourjois Rough Edition lipstick, £7.99

What an utter disappointment! I spent ages looking for just the right colour and finally settled on their No 11. I was thrilled to bits when I put it on. My daughter liked it (a miracle) and even my husband commented on the colour. So where’s my complaint?. It didn’t last. One second it was there, the next it had vanished, it didn’t even deign to leave behind a rosy stain.

Aromatherapy Associates Revive morning bath and shower oil, £39

There’s nothing like the zing of grapefruit to wake you up in the morning... AA’s fabulous body oil is full of it - plus essential oils of rosemary and juniper berry for extra oomph. You can add a capful to your bath, but I never have time. Instead I smooth it on before showering. The entire house is filled with the invigorating scent, and my skin is left silky and scented. A little goes a long way, too.
