Banging the drum for playtime

CRASH, bang, wallop!

A group of youngsters made some noise when they took part in a musical workshop at Cusworth Park in Doncaster.

The event, which saw the kids play a selection of instruments made out of junk, was staged to mark National Playday.

A number of events are running throughout the week themed around play.

The Cusworth event was arranged by the Doncaster community arts group Darts, Doncaster Dome Playrangers, and the charity A-Junction Network North.

Activities included creating box towns, making noise with junk instruments, and drawing and painting on a specially created graffiti wall.

Margaret Dunn, play ranger project manager said: "National Playday is a great opportunity for us to celebrate play in the borough."
