Times we had with telegrams
TELEGRAMS are a thing of the past but the Post Office messenger boys who delivered them have some tales to tell.
Now they've set up a web site to keep in touch, swap stories and pictures and hold reunions.
The organisation is based in Birmingham but people are welcome from anywhere in the country.
Visit www.birming-hamsandsclub.co.uk or write to Roger Green, Special Hand Stamp Section, Royal Mail Birmingham, Birmingham Mail Centre, St Stephen's Street, Birmingham B6 4AA.
Get fell in
EX-CORPORAL Cliff Newton, who describes himself as the army's worst-selling author, is looking for funny stories of service life for his fourth book, Get Some In.
He welcomes anecdotes from all branches of HM Forces and promises to credit them with name, rank and number.
You can see his previous efforts at www.old-sweat.co.uk and all proceeds got to military charities.
Drop him a line at Bishop Tozers Chapel, Middlemarsh Road, Burgh-le-Marsh, Skegness PE24 5AD.
Bouncing babies
HOW To Be On TV - the Diary's famous feature. A TV company is making a documentary on big babies.
It wants expectant mothers at different stages of pregnancy (four to five and seven to nine months) as well as up to three months after giving birth who anticipate giving birth to 10lb-plus babies.
Or they may be overweight themselves and are wondering what effect this will have on their child.
Call 0161 200 5370 or e-mail stephan-iepage@scarlet-tv.co.uk.
