Apprentice star helps students

KRISTINA Grimes, runner-up of the third series of The Apprentice, visited Doncaster College to give her expert opinion on a scheme to encourage enterprising students.

The college has set up enterprise ambassadors in each academy and department area, and is developing a business and enterprise programme for young people which is intended to instil the basic skills required to start and develop a business.

Kristina visited the college's Hub and High Melton campuses in April and is now helping with ideas that are expected to bring enterprise and business into the classroom.

As well as meeting the site's enterprise college management team, Kristina visited most vocational study areas across the college and said she was impressed by the work being undertaken.

Enterprise college project manager Jayne Robinson said: "Kristina, the team and I are looking to develop a programme that engages everyone in the philosophy of business, focusing on developing their motivation, inspiration, courage, enterprise and resource awareness. This will furnish the learner with real business ideas, abilities and opportunities to take into their future life."

Kristina plans to revisit the college in the coming weeks.
