Alistair's head over heels with new Red Arrows role

DONCASTER'S Alastair Holt will be flying high this summer with world-famous flyboys the Red Arrows as part of their back-seat support crew.

The mechanical technician, aged 26, is joining a 10-strong group of engineers known as the Circus Team, who will each be assigned to a specific aircraft and pilot throughout the 2008 summer display season.

He will travel as a passenger in one of the Red Arrows' two-seat Hawk aircraft in transit flights to over 90 display venues throughout the UK, Europe and North America, flying at speeds of over 350mph.

The former Hungerhill School pupil will be responsible for servicing the plane. He said: "I'm really excited about my new role and am looking forward to the display season. Being part of the Circus Team is a great opportunity because of the amount of flying you get to do as a passenger in a jet aircraft."
