Move over the Great British Bake Off - Doncaster’s budding bakers proved they are the cream of the crop by taking part in a charity contest.

Dozens signed up to compete in the fundraising bake-off competition at the Olive Bar and Grill, in Barnby Dun, in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. From an espresso and amaretto cake to a popping candy cake to a unique Kit-Kat based creation, a whole host of delicious baked goods was on offer.

Owner of the Olive Bar and Grill, Martin Blagden, and his daughter, Sarah, took the place of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood as the competition’s judges.

Joint first prize went to Melissa Tasker and Sylvia Davies, second place to Elsa Buisson and third to Rachel Somerfield.
