A FISHING club in Edlington has hooked some cash to help keep youngsters fit, active and busy.

The club, set up by Friends of Martinwells Lake, will be run by PC Dean Stockdale and PCSO Bob McGuiness and will teach 10 to 16-year-olds the art of fishing.

The club, based at the Edlington lake, and attended by Sir Thomas Wharton Community College pupils, has received a £243 boost thanks to St Leger Homes, the firm which manages Doncaster’s council homes. The money is from the organisation’s Positive Activities Fund and will buy nets.
