The centre, established in 1998 as part of the Making It Industrial Heritage Trust Ltd, is an independent charity that aims to provide a fun and engaging place for visitors young and old.

It is a completely ‘hands-on’ environment, with a vast array of high-tech activities that teach children how everyday products are invented, manufactured and sold.

Families also get to make their own working models to take home.

The centre will be open until February 28 from 10am to 5pm for access to the Interactive Galleries, Brewhouse Café and ‘Making it!’ gift shop.

There are also some exciting workshops for children that can be booked in advance, by visiting or calling 01623 473 200.
