Performers, poets and writers are preparing for a new celebration of the spoken word.
The success of Scribble, a Sheffield night which aims to provide an open mic slot for creative people to showcase their work, has inspired a sister event.
Organisers of the night, which is currently held in the city centre’s Red Deer Pub, are hosting their first day-time session next month.
The first afternoon Scribble takes place at the Green City Cafe on Sunday, September 8 from 3pm until 5pm.
Storytellers, playwrights, singers, poets and writers can come along and take part and claim a free complimentary coffee, while the stage-shy are welcome to sit and enjoy the show.
Scribble founder Chris said: “We have had an eclectic mix of people speaking – from short story writers, to poets and even a gent who played the clarinet whilst reciting a poem about the Voyager probe leaving our solar system.”
