We Northerners are hot on the scent of celebrity status...
Almost 80 per cent of us are willing to buy a celebrity scent if we like the smell of it, compared to 42 per cent nationwide, says a survey of 3,000 men and women by the Perfume Shop.
We own three or more scents, using different fragrances for different occasions.
Some 60 per cent of 16-24 year olds having a specific scent for a night out on the pull.
And over a third of people surveyed admitting to buying a new perfume or aftershave to cheer them up.
Typically blokes will spend £26 to £30 on fragrances for themselves or a partner.
But most people would spend £10 less on perfume for a parent.
Line-up for the big show
This year’s Clothes Show Live promises to be a star-studded occasion.
X Factor girls Alexandra Burke and Cher Lloyd plus former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt will be singing at the Birmingham NEC event, which runs December 2-7.
The UK’s biggest fashion and beauty event will feature catwalk shows, with some events featuring TV’s TOWIE stars Joey Essex, Harry Derbridge, Kirk Norcross, James ‘Arg’ Argent, and former couple Mark Wright and Lauren Goodger.
Standard tickets to Clothes Show Live and The Dance Show, as well as a seat in the fashion theatre, cost £27. Platinum tickets of £39 also give showgoers a runway-side seat in the fashion theatre, and a Clothes Show Live tote bag of goodies and exhibitor discounts.
