Volunteers needed to run art classes for pensioners

Have your say

An art studio complex in Sheffield is looking for volunteers to run taster sessions for a project working with elderly people.

Yorkshire Artspace – which offers rooms for artists – is developing sessions for pensioners together with charity Age UK.

Initially, artists are being sought who can offer their time for free to run two to three hour taster sessions for people aged 65 to 80 from June to September this year.

Volunteers would then be supported in developing permanent activity sessions on a paid basis. No experience of running projects for older people is necessary, but artists will be provided with free online training.
