Author Scott Lomax, pictured above, from Chesterfield, is behind ‘Unsolved Murders in South Yorkshire,’ which examines suspicious, mysterious and baffling deaths in the area between 1851 and 1982.

The cases include John Wortley, who was murdered for less than £70 in a city-centre multi-storey car park; Anne Dunwell who was abducted, sexually assaulted and left dead at the foot of a dung hill, Barbara Young, a young Doncaster mother and prostitute who was clubbed to death and whose murder has been linked to the Yorkshire Ripper.”

The book, by Wharncliffe Books, is on sale now.
