Fascinators At The Ready...

The St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse is on the horizon and a stylish outfit is key for most female racegoers.

Meadowhall is hosting a dedicated racing fashion pop-up boutique this week with a team of personal shoppers on hand to help men and women put together their outfits before Leger Week, which runs from September 11 to 14, with Ladies’ Day on the Thursday.

Stylish pieces from local fashion labels Roc & Doll, Funky Fascinators and Hats On Heads will be on the shelves, along with classy items from L.K Bennett and House of Fraser, and a suit-fitting service by T.M Lewin.

Bethanie Lunn, Meadowhall’s Beauty Editor says: “This year, standing out from the crowd is easy with bold prints being a key trend. Opt for stripes or tropical patterns to be truly in vogue.

“As for head wear, adding oversized flower clips in bunches is an update in the traditional fascinator.”

Stylists call it vintage treasure, but to you they are just old clothes...

You could be just the person a new TV fashion show specialising in vintage fashion is looking for.

The hunt is on for a high street shopaholic who refuses to be a Secondhand Rose. RDF Television and Channel 4 are currently working on a vintage fashion show.

This Old Thing will celebrate vintage fashion, show how to repair and revive clothing to bring it up to date, and hope to cure the country’s addiction to fast fashion. Dawn O’Porter will set out to prove classic clothes from the past can be the way forward for women who have scores of clothes, but constantly feel they have nothing to wear, and those who are panicking about what to buy for an upcoming event.
