Bargain-hunters are heading for Hillsborough...

This month St Luke’s Hospice opened its eighth charity shop in the neighbourhood - and staff have been rushed off their feet.

The smart shop on Middlewood Road had a crowd outside the doors on opening day - Star women’s editor Jo Davison cut the ribbon - and the tills have been ringing ever since.

St Luke’s, named the most successful charity shops in the country at the national Association of Charity Shop awards, already has shops in Abbeydale, Chapeltown, Crookes, Ecclesall, Gleadless, Stocksbridge and Woodseats.

There are plans for a ninth in Nether Edge.
