A Sheffield fitness class was put through its steps when dance royalty came to call.
Strictly Come Dancing professional Natalie Lowe waltzed into a Fitsteps class at St Timothy’s Church Hall in Crookes after its instructor won a competition.
The talented dancer posed for photographs with ladies who attend the class and even took to the stage with instructor Siobhan Ratcliffe to help lead the class.
Siobhan said: “My class nominated me in a competition to find the best Fitsteps classes in the country – it was fantastic to discover we were one of the winners.”
Fitsteps is a new fitness craze which was created by Strictly dancers Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite along with British swimmer Mark Foster. It fuses graceful ballroom steps with up tempo Latin dance steps for an energetic work out.
Siobhan was taught how to be a Fitsteps instructor by Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite in London and says she was delighted one of the Strictly stars came to see her class in action.
“The visit from Natalie was fantastic,” said Siobhan. “She was absolutely amazing – so lovely and very patient with everyone. She joined in the class and even came up on stage and danced a routine with me. She also gave a few bits of advice to the ladies about their technique.
“After the class everyone was so thrilled and they all said what a truly amazing dancer Natalie is.
“I don’t think it’s a night we will ever forget.”
