STUDENTS from a Sheffield performing arts group are celebrating after their school was named one of the best.
The Sheffield branch of Razzamataz – a nationwide franchise of theatre schools – scooped the best new franchise of the year award at the business’s annual meeting.
The company has expanded since 2007 after businessman Duncan Bannatyne agreed to invest in the firm on the Dragon’s Den television show.
Helen Green, principal of the Sheffield branch, won the award for best franchise.
She was praised for her public relations, marketing and networking skills, all done behind the scenes while producing a West End Show Case involving 298 young performers.
She said: “My school has exceeded all my expectations and although it has been hard work, I’ve loved running my own business and watching my students in Sheffield learn and develop.”
