Sheffield’s Sean Bean is among a star-studded line-up which has united to create an album of spoken words and music to mark the outbreak of World War One.
The A-list actor joins the likes of David Cameron, Stephen Fry and Sarah Millican on an official World War One Centenary charity album entitled Forever.
On the album, released in July, Sean reads Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen.
Royal British Legion director of fundraising Charles Byrne said: “The album is a unique and painstaking collaboration.
“The poetry borne of the struggles of World War One captured so hauntingly the trauma experienced by a generation of young men.
“Poets such as John McCrae and Wilfred Owen express this tragedy in a manner that only those who have seen it first-hand can describe.
“This album will help keep these moments alive for future generations.”
Money from the sale of the album will go towards meeting the £230,000 spent every day by the Royal British Legion in helping and supporting service personnel and their families.
