Literature lovers are set to descend on Rotherham’s home of football for a convention celebrating one of the great American authors.
The annual Jack Kerouac Convention takes place at New York Stadium on July 6 and 7.
Hundreds of visitors are expected to flock to the ground for two days of special guests, presentations, displays and entertainment honouring the On the Road author’s life and work.
The event has been billed as ‘an episode of Madmen come to life’ will welcome fans from across the world - from the USA to Holland.
Organiser Brian Clarke said: “We are expecting fans of Jack’s writing but also people who like jazz and folk, performance art, cinema and theatre. We are delighted to be bringing it to Rotherham.”
