They were dancing in the early hours on Saturday – from 9am to be precise.
Movers and shakers in Sheffield raved the morning away at the weekend at a ‘conscious clubbing’ event.
The revellers, fuelled by tea rather than anything stronger, were entertained by two DJs as they pulled some shapes on the makeshift dance floor at Hagglers’ Corner, Queens Road.
Organiser Jo Brierley, of Fir Vale, said: “It was brilliant.
“It was full, I had a nice time and there was some absolutely brilliant feedback.
“People were asking when we’ll be doing it again – everyone had a lovely time.
“It’s very simple, easy and good fun and all they’ve been waiting for is someone to hire a room and stick some DJs on.”
Jo said people from all ages and backgrounds turned up at the event – ranging from toddlers bopping away on the dance floor to middle-aged folk getting their groove on and grumpy teenagers texting in the corner.
The event was the first Saturday rave but regular raves run at the Hype Dance Academy, Earl Street, in the city centre on Wednesdays from 7am to 9am. The next event is on Wednesday, February 12.
Jo, an aromatherapy and massage therapist, is always on the look-out for DJs to play for the revellers at the morning raves. All types of music are considered. For more information, email Jo at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Good Morning Rave Facebook page.
