OVER 20,000 tickets have been sold so far for the Peter Pan pantomime at Rotherham’s Civic Theatre.
Tickets went on sale in April but there are still some seats available for the show which will run until January 13.
By Christmas Day the panto cast will have performed in 40 of the two-and-a-half-hour shows.
Daniel Hope, said: “Everyone here at the Civic Theatre, including the cast, crew and management, would like to wish everyone in Rotherham, and South Yorkshire, a very Merry Christmas.
“The audiences have been amazing, everybody has been getting into the panto spirit and has been having a good time. It wouldn’t be Christmas without the panto, so it’s great that we’ve been able to make everyone’s festive season complete.”
Mario Vernazza, who plays Captain Hook, added: “I would like to wish all the people of Rotherham a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
“Captain Hook is a very grumpy character, but even he can’t help but get into the Christmas spirit.
“The cast and crew here at the Civic Theatre make for such a wonderful surrogate family for the festive season and that warmth and sense of fun really come through in the show.”
Theatre manager Mark Scott added: “As ever, the audience has really embraced panto in Rotherham and made it part of their Christmas ritual. Not only have they been supporting us in their tens of thousands, but also been the loudest and most fun I can remember at the Civic.
“Peter Pan is one of the best shows we have ever had. Spillers Pantomimes have produced another amazing show and have proved that, it doesn’t matter if it’s a ‘traditional’ pantomime, audiences love sing-a-long songs, fun, laughter and a fantastic cast, which we have in abundance.”
