Have your say

Do you have a fabulous outfit that no longer fits? Or perhaps you bought some killer heels on impulse, but know you won’t wear them again.

Then let them go – to a good cause.

Helen’s Trust, a charity working across Sheffield, are looking for donations of quality clothes and accessories to stock their stylish Pop-up Boutique in the heart of Bakewell on September 29.

Sophie Gill community fundraiser for the charity which supports the terminally ill by providing comfort and support in their own homes at the end of their lives, explains: “One in five women has over 100 items in their wardrobe, some of which they will only wear once.

“If you could arrange a collection at work or in your area, please get in touch. We are also looking for volunteers to help with sorting and setting up the boutique.”

Sophie can be contacted on 01629 812759 or at fundraising@helenstrust.org.uk and donations can be dropped at Oakholme Road near Brocco Bank. Call the Helen’s Trust office for details on 01629 812759.

New image after split

NEVER mind the cost of a divorce; Britons splash the cash on changing their appearance after an emotional split - and it hits the pockets of women much harder than it does men.

A relationship break-up sends almost 50 per cent of women rushing off for an image-boosting make-over to the tune of £500.

In contrast, just a quarter of men have indulged in a post-split revamp – and spend only £150.

According to new research from discount website myvouchercodes.co.uk, most women turn to new hairstyles as a means of reinvention. Some 61 per cent had bought a new wardrobe and one in ten had even turned to plastic surgery.

For men, the most common pick-me-up was a new wardrobe, followed by spending on new grooming products.
